NEWS
openSkies 1.2.1 (2024-04-03)
- Now functions to retrieve flights accept intervals longer than 1 week
- The Impala shell backend has been changed to Trino in accordance to changes in the OpenSky Network infrastructure. The only change visible to users is that functions previously using useImpalaShell argument now use useTrio argument. Users previously using an Impala shell account are required to obtain a new Trino account from OpenSky Network
openSkies 1.1.6 (2021-12-19)
- Now multiple field names can be passed to the get_values method of openSkiesStateVectorSet objects
- Identification of flight phases is now implemented through findFlightPhases() and the detect_phases() method of class openSkiesFlight
- Fixed a bug that caused crashes in functions to retrieve state vectors when response status due to unavailable resources was 500
openSkies 1.1.5 (2021-10-07)
- Additional query filters have been added to getIntervalStateVectors()
- Fixed a bug leading to wrong formatting of category description for aircraft metadata
- Fixed a bug leading to unintended behavior of functions with maxQueryAttempts parameter, where 1 attempt less than specified was performed
- Fixed a bug in plotRoutes leading to crashes in rare cases when the values of latitude, but not those of longitude, for an openSkiesStateVectorSet are NA
- OpenSky Network coverage can now be retrieved with getOSNCoverage()
- Added method remove_redundants to objects of class openSkiesStateVectorSet, to remove state vectors that did not contain any update of positional or other type of information
- getVectorSetFeatures and getVectorSetListFeatures now have a fields argument, that can be used to specify which fields should be used to extract features for clustering
- Fixed another possible type of failure of the state vectors endpoint of the live API
openSkies 1.1.4 (2021-08-23)
- Fixed the behaviour of functions accessing Internet resources to default to 60 seconds timeout
- It is now possible to specify a timeout and a maximum number of query attempts for functions accessing the OpenSky Network live API
openSkies 1.1.3 (2021-08-06)
- Fixed a bug leading to wrong formatting of Impala shell queries with more than 1024 hits
- Fixed a bug causing split_into_flights method for openSkiesStateVectorSet objects to crash when flights with a single state vector were detected
- Fixed minor formatting errors of print methods for R6 classes
- More unit tests added
openSkies 1.1.2 (2021-07-30)
- State vectors for a full time interval can now be retrieved through the Impala shell
- Fixed bug resulting in errors when no results where returned by queries to the Impala shell
openSkies 1.1.0 (2021-03-06)
- State vectors can now be retrieved through the Impala shell
- Multiple clustering algorithms for trajectories are now available
- Airport metadata can now be embedded in several data structures
- All functions retrieving flight instances can also retrieve associated state vectors
openSkies 1.0.0 (2021-01-26)
- Major update to the provided functionalities and data structures
- Aircraft metadata can now be retrieved with getAircraftMetadata
- Airport metadata can now be retrieved with getAirportMetadata
- Route metadata can now be retrieved with getRouteMetadata
- One or more routes can now be plotted with plotRoute and plotRoutes
- Location of aircrafts can now be plotted with plotPlanes
- System of R6 classes for aircraft location data established
- R6 classes include additional methods for performing relevant operations
- Clustering analysis of trajectories can now be performed with clusterRoutesDBSCAN
